Nutella is not as delicious as it used to be, it is one of those products horribly overloaded with palm and coconut oil. Not only are the health benefits being questioned, but their cultivation is devastating nature. Check out the simple instructions for home production.
Anyone, even a novice cook, can make homemade Nutella. You will need hazelnuts, eggs and sugar.
Ingredients
1 cup hazelnuts
2 cups sugar (semolina)
2 eggs
2 cups of milk
3 tablespoons cocoa
4 tablespoons plain flour
1 teaspoon butter
Preparation of homemade Nutella
Remove the skins from the hazelnuts and toast them in a dry frying pan for about 10-15 minutes until they start to smell nice. Then let them cool thoroughly.
Blend the cold hazelnuts until smooth and oily. If they are warm, they might go rancid and start to pat.
Combine the eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Gradually add the cocoa, flour, hazelnut mixture and butter.
Start heating the milk, gradually stir the prepared mixture into the hot milk and cook over low heat, stirring thoroughly from the bottom, until thickened. It doesn't have to be too thick, it will solidify a lot when poured into glasses.
